I’m sitting in Hong Kong airport waiting to board my plane. Its about 11:30pm and theres some guy playing the oboe quietly in the background. Everyone looks tired. I feel tired. My eyes feel dry. I hope I can sleep on the plane tonight, actually I hope the plane will be pretty empty – I’ve got a window seat and the last thing I want to do is be climbing over someone in the middle of the night trying to get to the loo.

So today was my last day in Hong Kong and I’ve packing my suitcase and cleaning out my room. In the morning I did and little bit of moving my stuff out of my room and into the living room. I then realised that it was going to be impossible to fit all my stuff into the suitcase so my grandma took me out for breakfast and to get another luggage bag.

I like hanging out with my grandma. Shes is the best. I like talking to her about how she grew up and discussing various issues. So our last breakfast together for a while, I’m going to miss our long moments of indecisiveness (on my part I must admit) trying to decide what to eat and having her read to me out loud the menu because I can’t read chinese.

I went down to the Vine Centre in Central to drop off some stuff to people and say goodbye, then went back home and packed my bags. Took me over an hour! It was like putting together a jigsaw puzzle! The month I’ve been here I’ve managed to accumulate so much STUFF. I came to HK with pretty much a pair of jeans, a skirt and 3 tops and i’m leaving with what i’m hoping a wardrobe that will last me most of this year! Amongst other things I had brought 13 pairs of shoes, 5 handbags and 6 pairs of jeans. I had to pretty much sit on my suitcase to close it! Oh, and as I was cleaning out my room I found so many Starbucks and Pacific Coffee Company receipts.. so crazy, i was thinking about it and I think Ruth and I had Starbucks or PCC coffee every day. If not coffee, then redbull (I’m sure the lady at my local 7-11 knows my face!) – its terrible, i’m really going to try and wean my self off caffeine this year. Ok well at least minimise it to one in the morning!

Hong Kong as been fantastic! Been out so much, seen so much and really connected with my family. I was so blessed there. I am going to miss it. But right now I am thinking about coming home now. I am thinking about all my friends, about my church, about my kitty cats, about my students and about all that I love and appreciate about my life in Perth. Its one awesome place.

My planes boarding now. I think I am ready to come home.
